[The powerful gust of wind, intended to force Ren to recall her Pokemon, was not nearly as effective on such a heavy, slow Pokemon. In fact, it did end up sending the Venusaur reeling, but not before he fired off his attack in a haphazard manner; perhaps it hit, perhaps it didn’t. The light was blinding.
Meanwhile, Ren stood her ground, hat pulled low over her eyes, shirt flapping around. Finally, her element. She could withstand the wind and the rain and the cold.
But things would heat up in this battle very soon…]
[Pidgeot was only barely hit with the beam, but it was blinding enough to send the Pokemon falling quite some ways before it finally managed to shake its dizzy feeling and get back into proper flight again.
The Pidgeot, while already close to the ground, took this chance to make close up attacks on the Venusaur while it was getting its head into the game, and swooped up upon the grass-type, attacking repeatedly with its beak.]
trainer-green started following you
[A frown grows on her face at seeing the other.]
You again? What do you want?
I feel like the answer you’re looking for is robots, so I have to say
…
dinosaurs.

Heeeeey again. I decided to grace everyone with my presence again today~.
[She can be very good at hiding her feelings if she wants to be.]
[Venusaur barely had time to react before Jade’s flying type sent air pressure careening into his skin. He snarled; he’d always been quick to anger…
The plant on his back began collecting sunlight. Ren knew from practice exactly how accurate Solarbeam would be, especially considering the years of practice…]
Pidgeot, Whirlwind! Quick!
[The bird-like Pokemon obeyed its trainer and began flapping its wings immediately, causing an incredibly powerful gust of wind. Venusaur was very heavy, so it may just cause the Pokemon to slide and flip over instead of actually go up in the air, but if it’s executed fast enough, it should be able to put a halt to the opponent’s attack.]
Okay, BRB because food.
[Ren knew that her Pikachu was resilient and strong, especially in this sub-tropical environment. However, she really didn’t want to take risks, especially in a friendly battle… especially considering who she was fighting. She took a few steps onto the battlefield, wordlessly recalling the electric Pokemon, then stepped back again.]
…Venusaur…
[The grass type appeared in a flash of light, and roared tremendously. He lashed his vines, attempting to strike the Machamp with an under sweeping Vine Whip. The goal, apparently, was to toss the Pokemon up like a pizza pie.]
[The already slowed Machamp didn’t even stand a chance of reacting on time before being thrown up by Venusaur’s vines. Jade, unprepared to see her Pokemon in midair, quickly called Machamp back to its pokeball before it could hit the ground. She dug in her pocket and pulled out her next pokeball, giving it a toss.]
Pidgeot, Air Slash!
[Out of the red flash, Pidgeot immediately flew up higher and with a flap of its wings sent air speeding towards Venusaur like a blade.]
{ Green had expected such a move, but what he had not expected was for the aim to be to his Pokemon’s legs. However, Machamp was strong enough to continue it’s attack.The pain the Pokemon felt was brushed off, and it took a few testy steps back. The pain was not great enough to cause a hindrance in movement, nor did it become burnt. Machamp looked up from it’s legs to the Arcanine, and gave it a smirk that looked as though it said, “That’s all you’ve got?” }
{ Though Machamp was acting cocky, Green himself knew better. That attack was extremely powerful, and Machamp could only take so many of these. His pride as a Gym Leader was at stake, and he was not about to have it stolen by this imposter. }
Machamp!
{ Green called to the Pokemon, an idea quickly forming in his mind. Although both he and his opponent were very powerful, Green had a trick up his Machamp’s figurative sleeve that could turn the battle in their favor. }
Use Focus Energy, and then counter it’s next move with Karate Chop!
{ Green knew that there was no way the Pokemon was going to have an opportunity strike again before the Arcanine did, especially given the difference in speed. But if Machamp could pull off an immediate counter before the other Pokemon could move away that may be able to provide numerous openings. }
{ The Machamp lifted two of it’s large arms above it’s head, and clasped them together. It’s second pair of arms were placed in front of it’s chest, and it’s eyes closed. An aura seemed to be coming from the Pokemon, and it’s blue muscles were practically aglow. }
[Jade had to think fast. Arcanine was quick, but with Machamp ready to block attacks, could it be quick enough? If there were just a way to be fast enough to make a move and put an end to Machamp’s attack before it got anywhere…
Suddenly, an idea clicked. There was a move faster than the others. It wasn’t guaranteed success, but it was worth a shot.]
Arcanine, use Extreme Speed and go for the legs again!
[Without a second’s delay, the dog-like Pokemon rushed at its foe in a blinding speed, attempting to headbutt it’s legs. The plan, as Jade had decided it just mere seconds ago, was to knock Machamp off its feet before it could attack, to put an end to the moves it was about to unleash. It would take a great amount of speed to pull it off though, and despite how fast both this move and the Pokemon performing it are, that kick to the underbelly may have slowed Arcanine down in just the slightest.]
